Questions of computer networks

What is a computer network?

A computer network is a collection of devices connected by a communication channels.

Networks File Servers Workstations Network Interface Cards Switches Repeaters Bridges Routers

File servers It is a very fast computer with a large amount of RAM

Workstations All the computer are connected in the same network.

Network Interface Cards Is located is the computer box and is maked to connect physical between network and the work station.

Switchers The Switch give the connotation between cables from workstations

repeaters repeater connects two segments of your network with a cable.

routers A router is connected to at least two networks, common two LAN or WAN.

What are the advantages of networking?

A)Share information – Networks allows authorized user to share data and information stored on other computers of the networks B)share hardware and software - Computers connected to a network can share equipment like printers, modems etc. They also can share software. This helps to avoid high duplication costs C) Share internet – Networks can share A single internet connection, this facilitates communication.people can communicate efficiently and easily via , instant messages chat videoconferencing

What are different types of computer network?

There are 3 main types of computer network 1. LAN 2.MAN 3.WAN
