PLOT Kokopelli’s Flute is about a boy name Tepary. He blew on a enchanted flute at the time of the lunar eclipse and turned him self into a magical packrat in the middle of the night as the sun goes down in Pueblo, Colorado.

SETTING The setting of the story was an outdoor seed farm. Tepary grew up near the mesa and cliff dwellings in a small house on a farm. The original place Tepary’s mom’s family grew up in was in Ohio. They traveled to Pueblo, Colorado and started the seed farm.

CHARACTERS The characters in this miraculous story were, Tepary, Dusty, Cricket, Tepary’s mom and dad, the two pothunters Rodney and Duke. Some of the side characters were, Raven, the sheriff and the coyote.

THE STORY – IN THE BEGINNING The beginning was about Tepary and his adventures with his dog named dusty in the wide open Pueblo, Colorado. They waited for the lunar eclipses to appear but suddenly Tepary noticed how the picture house was robbed by two men. He glimpsed around and spotted a magical flute and blew into it. A couple minutes later Tepary felt different, very different.

MIDDLE The middle was about Tepary’s family and how they meet cricket and Tepary discovers the secrets about the ancient flute. When he blew on it and turned him self into a packrat in the middle of the night. Cricket tells more and more about the ancient people but you will have to read this fascinating book if you want to know more in the middle of this book journey.

END Tepary finally trapped those bad guys who robbed the picture house and Tepary saved his dog, Dusty. The way the story ended was how the rain came and something on the way happened to Tepary’s mom when she stayed stiff in the rain and developed an illness. She soon received a cure and was a lot better. But will Tepary cure his spell of being a packrat?

My Comments What I learned from this book was that you should always trust in yourself and never take valuable things that is not yours with out asking. I very much enjoyed this book and would like to read it again. My favorite part of the story was when Tepary tricked the coyote with crickets help. This story was similar to my life because of the adventures that I have with some of my friends. I will always remember this story by the seeds that were very special to Tepary and his family and friends.
