One Point Perspective Design and Technology

One Point Perspective Task 3 Here are some high quality examples of what we are aiming to produce by the end of this unit

One Point Perspective Task 3 (Part 1) – Drawing the room For the back wall draw a rectangle in the centre of the page as shown below Position your Vanishing Point in the very centre of this rectangle Take a construction line from the Vanishing Point, through the left corner of the back wall and to the edge of the page (one continuous, straight line) Do this with the other three corners of the back wall VP

One Point Perspective Task 3 (Part 1) – Drawing the room Pick a point on the left construction line (quite near the edge of the page) and take a bold, horizontal line straight across until it hits the opposite line Once it hits this line, take another bold line straight down until it hits the bottom line Complete the shape as shown – if you have done this all correctly then your final line should join back up with the first line VP

One Point Perspective Task 3 (Part 1) – Drawing the room Bolden the lines between the corner of the small rectangle and the corner of the big rectangle Do the same with the other corners to finish off the basic room construction VP

Door One Point Perspective Task 3 (Part 2) – Adding details to the room Using vertical construction lines draw the sides of the door on the left wall Take a construction line from the VP across these two lines to mark the top of the door Finish the door by marking in the bold lines Apply the same techniques to create the window on the right wall VP 1 – Construction Lines 2 – Bold Lines Window

One Point Perspective Task 3 (Part 2) – Adding details to the room Start by drawing the front face of the desk (rectangle) Take construction lines from the three visible edges to the VP Draw a horizontal line to mark the back edge of the desk Bolden the gap between these edges as shown Take a line straight down from the top edge until it meets the bottom construction line VP Desk

One Point Perspective Task 3 (Part 2) – Adding details to the room Take this line across horizontally until it meets the bottom edge of the right wall Add a thickness to the top of the desk using a construction line as shown Bolden this section Complete the desk by taking a line straight up from the back edge of the desk as shown VP Desk

VP One Point Perspective Task 3 (Part 3) – Adding your own details to the room Add your own details to your room using all of the techniques that you have been shown Remember that when you are drawing any 3D shapes, you should always draw the flat 2D face first, and then project your edges to the vanishing point Here are some examples to give you some ideas
