JACoW Status Report, Team Meeting, Oak Ridge, November 2004, J. Poole 1 JACoWJACoW

2 JACoWJACoW Status 30 conferences already published Currently ~20,000 hits per annum (averaged since the Trieste Meeting last year). Domain name registration (payment) valid for 1 more year. Main effort has been with SPMS during 2004.

JACoW Status Report, Team Meeting, Oak Ridge, November 2004, J. Poole 3 JACoWJACoW Membership In addition to the seven series already published, there are some new members and two more conferences with applications under consideration.  FEL Conference Series joined in  International Computational Accelerator Physics (ICAP) also joined in  RuPAC joined in 2004 and will publish their 2004 conference on JACoW.  ICFA Advanced Beam Dynamics Workshop is planning to apply.  Interest expressed by the Sarantsev workshop (Russia).

JACoW Status Report, Team Meeting, Oak Ridge, November 2004, J. Poole 4 JACoWJACoW Problems in 2004 Domain registration failure on several occasions (down for several hours and in one case, days). Website was migrated on October 14 – some problems since then with search engine and uploading. Search engine still returns some garbage in the first line of the descriptive information for a small number of papers. Search engine does not return some papers – two cases have been reported.  Both now OK since the migration and re-indexing

JACoW Status Report, Team Meeting, Oak Ridge, November 2004, J. Poole 5 JACoWJACoW Progress in 2004 The help text for authors has been updated, including:  tips on graphics insertion in Word  recipe for avoiding Type 3 fonts in LaTeX Scanned conferences coming through and published Early EPAC conferences are being scanned

JACoW Status Report, Team Meeting, Oak Ridge, November 2004, J. Poole 6 JACoWJACoW Unresolved Issues Funding for JACoW activities including domain name. Library data publication. Keywords list needs accelerator names review PAC95 has more on the CD than has been published on the web. I have been asked to add photos etc. but the CD is fully PDF and therefore it needs some html pages sorting out.

JACoW Status Report, Team Meeting, Oak Ridge, November 2004, J. Poole 7 JACoWJACoW The Future ? EPAC is the first conference to only have electronic publication.  This raises the question of it is worth numbering the pages A suggestion has been received that we should add a definition of how to cite papers published on JACoW Any suggestion as to how the library data should be made available ?  Extract the data from SPMS and make a link from a new page on the JACoW website ?
