Fort Washington Forest Elementary Parent Liaison

Who am I? My name is Tabbette Blake, and I will be working with you this year. I am very excited to serve you as your school based Parent Liaison at Ft. Washington Forest Elementary. As a parent of a Prince Georges County Public School student, I believe in full participation at your child’s school. In order to achieve this goal a parent must encourage communication between the parent and the teacher. One of the roles of a parent is to fully participate in the education of their child. Remember YOU are your child’s greatest Cheerleader!

Parent Requests Do you need help understanding how Ft. Washington Forest works? Do you need help checking your child’s homework daily? Do you know when your child’s test/quizzes are scheduled? Do you know who to address for specific help? Do you feel comfortable when you visit your child’s teacher at Ft. Washington Forest Elementary? Do you know how to help your child with math, reading and science problems? How can I volunteer in my child’s school? How can I help Ft. Washington Forest reach their goals for my child?

Objectives of your Parent Liaison To help parents understand the High Expectations our team has for their children at our school To establish an on going dialogue between parents and teachers To establish a friendly school environment To help parents realize the importance of being an active team member of their child’s educational team To motivate parents to join our formal parent organization To get 100% participation on monthly parent night events To include parents who may have language barriers To help parents create learning environments at home

How to reach me Phone: Walk in: Please check in the office and be directed to Room 2, down the hall, turn first right and I’m the fourth door on your left.

Working together we will bridge any gap Thank you for your time. I sincerely look forward to working with you this school year. Tabbette Blake your Ft. Washington Forest school based Parent Liaison
