Europe Landforms Small continent – peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean Ural Mountains are a natural boundary between Europe and Asia. Northern European Plain covers half of Europe and has good farmland. Northwestern Highlands are good for timber but not for farming.

Europe Landforms continued Central Uplands are good for livestock and mining. Alpine Mountains are high mountains with some small scale farming.

Europe Bodies of Water Good harbors – Europe is a world leader in shipping. Rhine River runs from Switzerland through the Netherlands into the North Sea. Danube River is the second largest river in Europe. Europe has few lakes.

Russia Landforms Russia stretches over the continents of Europe and Asia. Shares the Northern European Plain with Europe. East of the Ural Mountains is Siberia and contains 75% of the land but only 20% of the people. The West Siberian Plain is the largest in the world.
