Carbon Copy Creations Can you cooperatively copy an Original Creation?

Task Your challenge is to exactly duplicate the structure that I have built. Assume different roles during the task. –Builder –Manager –Observer –Active Listener

Observer Look at the structure in the box without touching, observe for one minute without talking, report back to group. Cannot use hands at all! Hands must remain behind back or in pockets once rejoining group. Instruct the builder on how to build the structure. Give only verbal instructions – no gestures, pointing, or touching!

Builder Has two minutes to assemble the structure as directed. Cannot ask questions or make comments. Only the builder can touch the Lego blocks.

Manager Makes sure the observer keeps his/her hands behind the back. Reminds the builder not to ask questions or comment.

Active Listener Ask questions to clarify its meaning.

Rotate Roles When teacher calls the end of the two- minute period, cards are passed in a clockwise direction and each member of the group then takes on a new role. Repeat procedure until all members of the group have had the opportunity to function in each role.

Another Challenge Choose the person your team thinks is best at each job – assume roles and replicate the teacher’s final Lego structure.

Final Challenge Same task but this time the observer can take notes.
