Identifying Partnerships –In this module, the practitioner is introduced to the principles and motivation behind forming partnerships to facilitate the successful implementation of community projects, including ICT initiatives Concentrates on Microbeacon, Edinburgh

Section Objectives There are 6 key activities in this section: –SWOT Analysis for Microbeacon –SWOT Analysis on “Working in Partnership” –Prioritising –Identifying Partners –Identifying Stakeholders –Types of Partners and Stakeholders

SWOT Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats Strengths Positive actions and qualities Weaknesses Negative actions and qualities Opportunities Potential opportunities to build on Threats Conflicts and constraints within the group and in the community

SWOT : Microbeacon When giving guidance on how participants should approach the SWOT analysis, the tutor could highlight –What experience Microbeacon can bring to the proposal (its strengths) –What gaps in their experience need to be addressed (its weaknesses) –What threats or constraints are apparent both in its immediate environment and the wider community which may affect the proposal –What opportunities are presented both immediately and in the longer term which the organisation may be able to capitalise upon

SWOT : Working in Partnership From this exercise, participants will have gained an understanding of the demands and constraints that are evident in partnership working

Prioritising This list is not exhaustive No correct answers here Your answers will depend on the needs of the organisation Needs will change over time
