Presentation transcript:

You’ve just pushed the button for the elevator to come. Now you’re standing there, waiting. You look out the window, and see the blue ocean and blue sky. Its spring break and you’re on a luxury cruise ship with your family. “Ding,” the elevator doors slide open. You walk in, and press the 5 button, to go to the fifth floor. You are currently on the main floor. As you wait for the elevator to get to your floor, you watch as the numbers light up on the wall. Next Page

You are currently on the main floor. As you wait for the elevator to get to your floor, you watch as the numbers light up on the wall. The number 2 lights up, then 3, then 4, then 5….then 6? You press the 5 button once again, being confused why the elevator is going past the fifth floor. The doors finally slide open, and you look up to see the 8 lit up. You press the 5 button again, to see if the elevator will go. Nothing happens. Do you… Stand in the elevator, and repeatedly press the 5 button followed by the “close doors” button to see if it will move. Walk out onto the eighth floor and try to maybe find another elevator or a staircase.

You decide to stand in the elevator, and repeatedly press the 5 button followed by the “close doors” button. You try for about 5 minutes, and realize nothing to going to happen. The doors don’t even close. You press the 4 button, just to see if it works, and suddenly the doors slam shut. You watch as the numbers light up… “What?!” you exclaim. You think, “How can it go from 5 to 2….” You decide the elevator must be really messed up, and when you finally get off this thing, you are going to tell a janitor or something. The doors slide open on the fourth floor. Next Page

You walk out, then turn left and continue down the hallway. Finally you see a door marked “STAIRS’ and open it. You walk in, and tilt your head up expecting to see stairs going up. There isn’t. There are stairs going down to the third floor and so on, but where the upstairs are supposed to be, there’s just a wall. Now you are even more confused. You realize that you have your cell phone with you, so you take it out to call someone. “No Service” says the screen. Do you… Walk down the stairs to the third floor, and try the elevator there. Walk back into the hallway and find another elevator.

You decide to walk down the stairs to the third floor, and try the elevator. Your steps make a loud echo as you walk. You walk into the third floor hallway and there is no one there. You’re surprised that you haven’t seen a person since you were on the main floor. As you walk down the hallway, you finally see an elevator. You press the up arrow, and wait to see if it will come. After a few minutes, “Ding,” the doors slide open. You walk in, and press the 5 button once again. Next Page

“Whoosh,” the doors close. You’re surprised that it’s actually working. You look to see the 4 light up….then the 5. “Finally”, you say with a sigh. The doors open and you walk out into the hallway. You swipe your card in the door, and walk in. Your mother is sitting on the couch. “Hey,” she says. “Hi,” you reply in a relieved voice. You decide to not tell her about your strange adventure with the elevators and stairs because you’ll just sound crazy. Next Page

You decide to walk into the fourth floor hallway and find another elevator. As your walking down the hallway, suddenly you hear another pair of footsteps. You stop to listen, and the sound keeps getting louder and louder. Then you see a lady come around the corner towards you. She smiles when she sees you, then presses the up button for the elevator. You walk up beside her. “Taking the elevator?” she asks you in a kind voice. Next Page

“Yep, to floor 5,” you say. The doors open and you both walk in. She presses the 5 button, and you notice her long bony fingers with pointy red nails. You both stand there sort of awkwardly, waiting for the elevator to stop. The doors open on the fifth floor. This surprises you because it’s the same elevator you tried last time. You walk out into the hallway. “I see the elevator finally worked for you…” you hear the lady say as the doors close. Next Page

You decide to walk out onto the eighth floor and try to maybe find another elevator or a staircase. You stand in the hall, and look from left to right. There is a light about every ten feet or so, and they are very dim. There’s also a door underneath every light. They look as if no one has used the doors in a very long time. You keep walking and finally you spot a door marked “STAIRS”. As you go to open the door, it suddenly whips open by itself. “Strange…” you think. Next Page

You walk down the stairs. You stop where you think the seventh floor door should be, but there’s no door. You keep going down the stairs, and this happens again for where you think the sixth and fifth floor doors should be. You walk down to the fourth floor, and to your surprise there’s a door marked “4”. Do you… Walk down the stairs to the third floor, and maybe try the elevator there. Walk into the fourth floor hallway and find an elevator hoping that one will work.
