USDA Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP) Training Child and Adult Nutrition Services-DOE May 5, 2011

Objectives

23,000 elementary children in South Dakota will benefit from the program in Schools will receive approximately $74.00 per student

Allocation of Funds… $50-$75 per student Majority of funds to be spent on fresh fruits and fresh vegetables 10% of money can be used for administering the program— Reasonable amounts can be spent on operating costs

Funding $$ One pot of money for August and September Allocation letter will be sent to the Authorized Rep in late July-early Aug. Addendum included—sign and return to CANS office no grant money is paid out until this is on file

Funding $$ New pot of money for October through May Allocation letter will be sent to the Authorized Rep in mid October
