What is KORA?  KORA is The Danish Institute for Local and Regional Government Research.  KORA conducts analysis and research on and for the 98 Danish municipalities and five regions.  KORA provides application-oriented and practice-oriented knowledge for and on municipalities and regions.  KORA has a special duty to disseminate knowledge and assist implementing the best solutions for municipalities and regions. 3

KORA’s research and analysis focus on the main areas of the welfare state  health  children and young people  social services  labour market and education  municipal economy and administration 4

KORA publications in 2013  64 reports  23 minutes  40 international peer reviewed journal publications (success rate is 20 per year)  3 books and 11 book chapters  15 articles in Danish journals  12 news paper articles  10 conference papers  2 working papers  2 Ph.d.-thesis 5

Preliminary results on KORA’s Performance  Quality: KORA is to be the preferred provider of analysis and research in the field of welfare state analysis – 82,5 % of actors who has required analysis and research tasks by KORA are satisfied with the quality of the analysis and research.
