The Increase in Acid Rain over Europe This was the acid rain problem in 1960 This was the acid rain problem in 1980 Imagine what it is like now!

What is Acid Rain? NATURAL Causes: CARBON DIOXIDE (CO 2 ) in the atmosphere. HUMAN Causes: Emissions of SULPHUR DIOXIDE (SO 2 ) and NITROUS OXIDES (NO x ) from cars and factories. Acid rain is in fact rain which has been turned acidic (acid is a pH of 6.0 or below) when water in clouds chemically reacts with natural CO 2 or human pollution.

What does acid rain harm natural environments? ANIMALS SOIL LAKES, RIVERS and OTHER WATER BODIES TREES and OTHER VEGETATION
