Sea- larger than a bay, smaller than an ocean Bay- body of water-partially surrounded by land connecting to a larger body of water Harbor- where ships can safely anchor Port – a place to unload or load goods safely

Mountain Range- a number of mountains Glacier- large piece of ice which moves slowly across the earth’s surface.

Gulf- larger than a bay- water jetting into land Canal- inland waterway

Oasis- a retreat Desert- arid and barren region

Reef- land made up of coral Channel- waterway

Peninsula- land surrounded by water on 3 sides

Valley- area of low lying land between mountains or hills

Tributary – a small river which flows into a larger river Atoll – a ring-shaped coral island
