They Poured fire on us from the sky While reading this book we came across a couple of examples that relate to natural disasters violating human rights. One of these examples was the flooding in the Gilo River. This violated their rights because they weren’t able to cross the river to be safe. Many of them lost their lives because they couldn’t cross the river safely. While reading this book we came across a couple of examples that relate to natural disasters violating human rights. Lightning Strikes Another example we came across while reading the book was when lightning struck houses and destroyed them. The people living in these houses could not control it and many of them lost their homes because of this natural disaster. Famine Towards the end of the book Victims from the war were part of a big famine and couldn’t get food or water. They were not able to eat and most of them starved to death. Many people were killed and severely hurt, houses were lost, schools were destroyed, and many people lost their families. Kids needed healthcare but were not able to get it.
