1. CURRENT EVENT BP Oil Spill was a disaster in the Gulf of Mexico which flowed unabated for three months in 2010 and continues to seep. It is the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry. The spill stemmed from a sea floor oil gusher that resulted from the 20 April 2010 explosion of deepwater horizon.

2. The explosion killed 11 men on the oil rig. An estimated 53,000 barrels per day were being pored out into the gulf of Mexico Billions of dollars were spent just too clean up the mess it made.

3. Marine Life THERE WERE BILLIONS OF SEA ORGANISMS THAT DIED And millions of fish have died or not been born due too interference from the oil spill. Tens of thousands of larger animals have been killed or hurt from oil spill.

4. What they learned To build extra cemented vaults on the bottom of these huge oil rigs, so incase of anything happening they will know for sure its safe. Like the titanic not every boat can with hold anything, but to prevent that from ever happening again they should throw a lot of money into improving the type of ship.
