Behavioral Intervention Program Options

 Positive Behavioral Intervention Support A collaborative, assessment-based process to developing effective interventions for problem behavior based on school wide behavior data Emphasizes the use of proactive, educative, and reinforcement-based strategies to achieve meaningful and durable behavior and lifestyle outcomes Aim is to build functional, effective environments in which appropriate behavior is more effective than problem behavior

  Structured 1:1 peer tutoring program  Reading and Math (up to Algebra I)program that runs parallel to our curriculum  Tutors and tutees are “at-risk” students  Fairfax and Montgomery County Learning Together

  Based on identification of the harm done by an offender to a specific victim or the larger community.  Process that involves a facilitated discussion between the offender and victim to identify issues created by the situation.  Process identifies the needs of the victim as well as the motivating factors of the offender.  Can be expanded to classroom meetings to maintain a positive environment.  Teachers, counselors, administrators are trained in facilitation skills.
