The Boeing Company

 Boeing designs and manufactures commercial jetliners, military aircraft, rotorcrafts, electronic and defense systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles and advanced information and communication systems.  Boeing employs 166,247 employees throughout the Enterprise in 50 states and 70 countries.  Washington state employs 80,821 employees.  Total revenue in $64.3 billion  Separated into two primary divisions (Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense Systems)

 Frederickson (Puyallup) consists of two major manufacturing businesses, began operation in Composite Manufacturing Center (665 employees)  777 Horizontal Stabilizer and 787 Vertical Fin Skin & Spar (992 employees – includes Auburn)  Wing Skins and Spars 737, 747, 767, 777 Airplanes Both businesses manufacturing wings with labor intensive processes creating wings from raw material to the finished product, delivering via over the road trucks to Renton or Everett

Skin & Spar – How Do We Work? Social Network Policy – Employees are made aware that there is no expectation of privacy when accessing the Internet for personal use from Boeing information systems, including personal use of any Web-based mail or social networking accounts. Personal use of computing systems must not interfere with the performance of Company business or the employee's assigned duties. Also, policies guiding the "Release of Information Outside the Boeing Company" applies if information about the company will be posted externally. Employees will not engage in conduct or activity that may raise questions as to the company's honesty, impartiality, reputation or otherwise cause embarrassment to the Company. The use of personal electronic devices (talking or texting) is limited to company business with the exception of break, lunch, or an emergency. Attendance – condition of employment Tobacco Free Workplace (2008) – Tobacco use of any product is prohibited on company property. Conflict Resolution – Encourage employees to work together to resolve business related interpersonal issues, rather than immediately moving to corrective action.
