What? – Student-designed and initiated – Pursued over the span of a year – Experiential, developmental process – Goal: To create a meaningful and significant contribution to the community
Your Project Your passions/interests A need in the field Your future career goals
When? – You develop your capstone project by the end of your practicum semester.
Who? – Main people involved: Your practicum professor Your advisor – And possibly these people: Your site supervisor A faculty mentor A professional mentor (working in the field) Schools/community agencies in need
Where? – Once you finish your project, you will present it to your peers, families, and community on the day you defend your portfolio.
How? – Stetson students have completed a wide variety of projects including: Writing an article for publication Presenting at a local/national conference Developing and launching a psychoeducational website Participating in community advocacy Developing and delivering a workshop to a community in need – Clients – Professionals/agencies in need of professional development
