Mechanics preliminaries

What is Mechanics? The branch of Physics concerned with the behaviour of physical bodies when subjected to forces or displacements, and the subsequent effect of the bodies on their environment. Classical MechanicsQuantum Mechanics Statics concerns itself with forces when no change in momentum occurs. Dynamics concerns itself with forces and matter when a change in momentum does occur. Kinematics is the study of motion without regard to the forces present.
