Process Instructions STEP BY STEP

Introduction - You will create a good set of instructions in presentation format - You will choose an audience, draft your presentation, revise it, and deliver it - You will need a test audience, visual support, and a test apparatus

Choose an Audience STEP 1: Finalize a Project B presentation team STEP 2: Choose a topic from the options available to your team STEP 3: Recruit family, friends, or co-workers to listen to your team’s rehearsals

Draft Your Presentation STEP 4: Write a script RED FLAGS:!Caution !WARNING ! DANGER !

Draft Your Presentation STEP 4: Write a script Introduction - purpose - phases - equipment list

Draft Your Presentation STEP 4: Write a script Body - consecutively numbered steps - command (imperative) verbs - phases if more than six steps total

Draft Your Presentation STEP 4: Write a script Conclusion - intended result - “double-check” troubleshooting Note: Include tips, definitions, and explanations where required

Draft Your Presentation STEP 5: Design and add visuals - Single illustration - PowerPoint show - PowerPoint show with illustrations

Draft Your Presentation STEP 6: Emphasize red flags and steps in the body STEP 7: Perfect the demonstration

Revise the Presentation STEP 8: Test the instructions on your sample audience STEP 9: Edit the presentation according to their most common suggestions Note: Presentation should last 5-8 minutes

Share with the Class STEP 10: Arrive five to fifteen minutes early on your scheduled presentation day STEP 11: Present in the scheduled order

Conclusion - In-class evaluation - 10 marks (4 content, 2 voice, 2 physical presence, and 2 style marks), awarded individually - 5/10 or more required for Project B, as well as success with those following your team’s instructions H a p p y T r a i l s !
