Evidence for General Intellectual Ability (4th – 12th Graders) Score within the ninth stanine on a full-scale comprehensive test of intellectual ability High performance on additional individual test of mental ability Observation of applied advanced reasoning ability Checklist inventories of behaviors specific to underachieving or disadvantaged gifted learners Teacher recommendation Parent / ruardian Recommendation

Evidence for Specific Academic Aptitude (4th – 12th Graders) Language, Math, Science, Social Studies Composite score within the ninth stanine (1) or more subject test scores of an achievement test High performance on an additional individual or group test of academic achievement Student awards or critiques of performance products Off-level testing Portfolio of high academic performance Student progress data Checklist inventories of behaviors specific to gifted learners Teacher recommendation Parent / Guardian recommendation
