What Do Administrators Need to Know to Give Effective Feedback on Goals?

Determining Feedback TechnicalRigor Comparability of the assessment Feedback on SGGs

Introducing……. Truly Progressing  8 th Grade Science Teacher  12 Years Teaching Experience  Sponsor of the Science Club  Has been offered several leadership roles but has never accepted.  Pilot teacher for PGES

Technical Considerations  Does the goal:  Contain a Growth Target  Contain a Proficiency Target  Match SMART Criteria

What Happens if We Stop Here? RIGOR COMPARABILITY

Use the 1 st Sample Rubric  Where would you place this goal on the rubric?  What feedback would you give the teacher?

Let’s look at your feedback  Who is doing the work of making the changes – you or the teacher?  Did you tie your feedback back to the language of the rubric? If not, how could you have worded things differently?  Would your conference be collaborative given your feedback?

Think and Plan Tool Aligned with EDS Questions around the SGG Process

Next Step  Review the Goals from the Draft and Revision Packets  What changes did the teacher make?  What feedback would the principal need to give to move the teacher to the new goal?
