Portchester Community School Welcome to our school

This is our nursery Attached to our school is a nursery. They look after children from 6 months to 4 years.

Science Our Science classrooms are where all the experiments take place. Students are able to work with special equipment to conduct research.

Maths and English This is our maths corridor where all the maths lessons take place. This is our English classroom where students are hard at work.

This is our library At our school we love to read. We have a variety of books in our library for all ages.

This is our canteen This is where we get our lunch. They serve a lot of different food.

Computers We have a number of computer suites where students can research and do work both online and offline. In some lessons students will work on the computers to make PowerPoints, do group work and work independently.

Textiles We spend a lot of time sewing and making products in this room. We especially love to tie-dye.

Drama and Music This is our drama studio. We have a number of talented students at Portchester who love to perform. We enjoy hosting events, and students recently starred in a showcase of talent.

Music We also have many budding musicians who play instruments such as the drums, guitar and keyboard.

Sports hall At Portchester we love to play sports including basketball, football and hockey. We run a lot of after school clubs and also play competitively as a school. Our Year 9 basketball team have won their last 4 matches, resulting in them being top of the league.

More sports Trampolining is very popular at Portchester, with both boys and girls of all ages taking part. Teachers run weekly wheelchair basketball sessions after school.

Art Here is some of our art work. Our Year 11 students who are years old are currently studying for their exams. We enjoy painting, drawing and sculpting.

Technology Technology involves electronics and woodwork. Our Year 10’s are currently making lamps.

Pitches This is one of our football pitches. Students at Portchester really enjoy sport and love competing against other schools.
