Using a Marantz All information provided will be demonstrated in class

Setting up 1. Attach the microphone to the cable provided. 2. Then attach the cable into the top of the Marantz in the ‘mono’ socket. 3. Turn on the marantz by flicking the power switch on the right hand side of the Marantz. 4. The screen will turn on.

Recoding 1. To check the marantz is working hit record. 2. Make sure the volume level is turned down otherwise you will experience loud static. 3. The level meter is located at the bottom of the marantz. 4. When you talk into the mic the lights will light up. 5. Ideally you don’t want to go past 12 db. 6. If it is too loud or too quiet you can adjust the volume at the bottom of the marantz on the right hand side. 7. When finished recording hit the stop button. 8. Simple!!

Uploading Audio 1. Once recorded the audio needs to go on a computer so it can be edited. 2. Make sure the marantz is switched off before proceeding. 3. To do so attach the usb cable provided to the left hand side of the marantz and into the computer. 4. When attached to the computer now is the time to turn the marantz on. 5. The screen on the marantz will then display a USB sign to show it is connected. 6. You can now upload the audio exactly the same as a pen drive!!
