Solar Powered Boat

Introduction In Term four Drew, Luke and I have worked on producing a solar powered boat. We started on brain storming ideas until the idea for a solar powered boat came up. We began talking on what we needed and how we would construct it before we started building the solar powered boat.

What we needed We used 2 pieces of foam A small solar panel 1 small propeller 2 pieces of wood Small engine Wire sheet of plastic

Method First of all we shaved the foam in to the shape of the hull. We then connected the two hulls together using small circular pieces of wood Next we connected the solar panel and the motor together by soldering them into a circuit. We then cut out a plastic base and drilled a hole through it where our propeller would then stick out the bottom of. Finally we then stuck it all together to make our floating solar powered boat.

Conclusion I have learnt that if you work on separate tasks independently you can get the tasks done a lot faster, I also learnt that team work is a key thing to learn when working on a big project, our solar powered boat worked successfully and travelled without the use of petrol or any batteries.
