Make the Job Fair Work for You Landing An Interview

Setting The Stage Dress for a job interview You will be meeting HR representatives and hiring managers Bring writing materials You want to be able to take notes quickly Carry plenty of copies of your resume Use a brief case or portfolio

Keep Your Focus Review the exhibitors list Choose a few target companies Do background research on those companies At the fair Focus your energies on those companies Wander around after visiting target companies

Know What’s Available The Job Fair Company List Outlines available positions for each company Use the fair kiosks to check for updates Apply for positions for which you are qualified Don’t be discouraged by the number of other job seekers – you only need one job!

Make The Most Of Each Meeting Introduce yourself to company representatives Be upbeat Project energy and confidence Prepare a two minutes or less statement Include your background and qualifications Ask questions about the company Listen to what they have to say

Follow Up! Note the name of each person you meet Ask for business cards Follow up with each company Send a letter or to the person you met Tell them about your interest in their company Briefly discuss your qualifications Include a copy of your resume
