 Mission Statement: To address the challenges associated with transition from military service to being actively engaged in the college experience. In addition, work with VA, schools, MFRI, and the Community to provide Veterans and their families the tools, and means to succeed in school and beyond graduation. Goals for the coming year:  Increase membership  Create a community of unity among all military and ex-military personnel  Support Troops Abroad  Increase awareness of SVO among administration, faculty and student population  Disperse current information regarding available benefits and work with campus and community groups.

 Members  Veterans & Family members  Students  Alumni  Community Members  Initially 6 members, but growing: “small - but very committed to the growth of our organization”. We recognize the power of social media: The Indiana University South Bend SVO maintains a presence on facebook, and will utilize any other resources available to communicate information to members, potential members, and Veterans everywhere.

 Inform Veterans about School Assistance programs, Grants, Graduate Programs, VA education benefits, State education Benefits, Financial Aid, and Military Family Research Institute support programs  Fund raising events each semester  Volunteer within Local community  Support the Homeless Veteran Project that is being done in Northwest, Indiana  Host Veteran’s Day “Thank You” Celebration  Support Campus / Community Annual Fundraisers: Can Drive, Toys for Tots, etc.

 Expected Revenue  Operation Diploma Grant: $2000  Fundraising Goal: $800 Total Anticipated Income - $2800 Total Anticipated Expense ($2250) End of Year Surplus -$550  Expected Expenses  Administration costs - $200  Welcome Week events - $300  Fundraisers - $600  Social Events - $250  Veterans Day Celebration - $700  Academic Award Giveaway - $50  Semester Kickoff Giveaway -$50  Community Involvement Projects - $100 Total Grant Request $2,000
