In 1998, after school snacks were added to children participating in after school activities. 50% of students in after school activities qualify. MISSION STATEMENT: The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low- cost or free lunches to children each school day USDA( U.S. Department of Agriculture) funds program. Food and Nutrition Services.
