Forming a personal conviction about drinking that honors God 1. Absolute – It’s wrong to get drunk (Ephesians 5:18). 2. Conviction – Should I abstain completely or not?  (Romans 14:21-22) [Stumbling block principle] It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.  {22} [Personal conviction principle] So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves (also 14:5 – his own mind; 14:8 – to the Lord)

4 Results of the Spirit’s filling  (Ephesians 5:19-21) 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your hearts to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for each other in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 and submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.  New English Translation (NET Bible )
