Logic for FCS Enabled Soldier Adversaries thrive on instability at all levels – local to global – in complex environments…where people live. Expeditionary and Campaign Quality Organizations comprised of Well Trained Soldiers and Leaders enabled by a Robust Network and Advanced Platforms that produce Precision Effects across the Full Spectrum of Conflict require Future Combat Systems We are achieving success with FCS. Our new way of doing business has brought FCS to life….and FCS capabilities are in the hands of Soldiers today! Integrated Spin Out capabilities to 5/1 AD (AETF) Accelerated FCS capabilities per CSA guidance Conducted very successful FCS capabilities demonstrations Educated key stakeholders Transitioning efforts on FCS Spin Outs and accelerated systems to IBCTs first. Transitioning AETF capability to IBCT organization Developed FFID Campaign Plan that is nested with ARCIC, TRADOC and Army Campaign Plans Actively supporting Army Campaign Plan with key Decision Points DP 112 (AETF Build) DP 116 (Spin Outs to IBCTs) DP 118 (FCS Center of Excellence) Conducted key FCS Core Development activities Created Live/Virtual/Constructive environment for training, testing and evaluation activities at Fort Bliss x Spin Out Enabled Modular BCTs FBCT Enabling the Soldier…No Fair Fights! 3

At the SoS level we are conducting a series of Integrated Mission Tests in our SIL environment combining M&S tools with emerging hardware and software as it comes out of our OTP’s engineering development and verification program. As additional systems become available, they are integrated into these IMTs as well as a series of hardware based SoS Technical Field Tests in preparation for the independent Government Operational Testing. This crawl, walk run sequence of test events affords us a risk management based approach to testing instead of the more traditional and expensive “testing in of performance”. AETF Preliminary-Limited User Test Emplacing U-UGS SUGV on Point POC: Charlie Williams/Mark Locklear Key Points: Training for P-LUT began back in in November and December of last year followed by a TFT early in 08 and then an FDT&E with collective training and wound up before the end of July with the Pre LUT. It was an intense 9 month process in the field to get that far and the many members of the team that saw it through to the end received the program’s thanks for a job well done. Team received a recognition citation: As a member of the Spin Out 1 team, your efforts at Ft. Bliss, Texas and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico were key in ensuring a successful Preliminary Limited User Test . You worked tirelessly and in sometimes harsh conditions at all hours to ensure a successful Future Combat Systems program event. It is not an overstatement to say that the Preliminary Limited User Test would not have been a success without your hard work and competence . Your teamwork and dedication to mission is very much appreciated. Emplacing T-UGS CL1 UAV in Overwatch
