Presentation transcript:

On a total Budget of $3, Or ¥

With an estimated population of 127,360,000 in 2010, Japan is the 36 th most densely populated country in the world with 837 people per miles squared About 84% - 96% of the population practice Buddhism or Shintoism. Japanese religions are also affected by Confucianism, Taoism, and Christianity. There are a total of 6,852 islands belonging to Japan along the Pacific coast of Asia. Most of Japan (around 70% - 80%) is forested and/or mountainous and cannot be farmed, industrialized, or used from residential purposes.

Japan has the third largest economy in the world right after China and the United States of America, yet it’s public debt is about 200% of it’s annual gross. Japan runs a constitutional monarchy where the Emperor has very little power, while the Prime Minister is the actual ruler. Major enterprises include Toyota, Nintendo, Sony, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Honda, Toshiba, Nippon, Nissan, and more.

Spoken languages include Anyu Itak, Eastern and Western Japanese, Ryukyuan, and other Japanese dialects. The climate varies greatly from north to south… There are approximately 108 active volcanoes on the lands of Japan and there are many earthquakes and tsunami’s due to the shifts of tectonic plates. This also means that there are a lot of hot springs! Kanji, Katakana, and Hiragana

Hello: Good Evening: Are you alright? (How are you?): Excuse me: Thank you: Yes: No: Good bye:

300BC – 300AD: Early Japanese people were hunters and gatherers, and the introduction of agriculture (starting with rice) began around this time. This makes government and a social hierarchy blossom. 1894: Japan declares war on China. China barely wins. 1905: Russia declares war on Japan. Russia wins easily. 1937: Japan declares war on China. China is overpowered, Japan wins. 1941: UK declares war on Japan. Japan wins (World War II): U.S.A declared war on Japan after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. U.S.A wins.

The main reason for Japan’s outrage on the US was that they had stopped shipment to Asia, which impacted Japan’s military and their secret plans to attack the UK, the Netherlands, and the US. They were also planning to expand their territory by taking over as many small islands around them as they could. This included Hawaii and Pearl Harbor. World War II from the Japanese

When the atomic bomb called “little boy” was dropped onto Hiroshima, the main military base in Tokyo was unable to contact the base in Hiroshima for a long while. After exhausting their resources, they sent a young soldier out to survey the damage on the city and report back with accurate information. The Tokyo military base really believed that it was only rumors. Tokyo’s first knowledge of the bombing came from a White House public announcement in Washington approximately 16 hours after the bombing took place. In 1945, an estimated number of 60,000 people died from nuclear fallout sickness. This does not include casualties from radiation exposure.
