Scholarship Committee Thank you for supporting the future of our business through recognition and reward for personal commitment to professional education and self improvement. Stanley Bratton Aon Risk Solutions 2711 N. Haskell Avenue, Suite 800 Dallas, TX Phone: Purpose To promote the further education and career advancement of individuals who major in accounting or finance who currently work or plan to work in construction or a construction related industry. Educational activities can include full or part-time students with a degree plan either graduate or undergraduate and professional exams including CCIFP and CPA. Primary Activities Promote the Dallas/Forth Worth CFMA construction scholarship program; to review all applications; and to award scholarships to the most qualified individuals. Implementation  Solicit nominations from the CFMA membership.  Evaluate and select the most qualified candidates based on the application form.  Notify the winners and arrange their attendance at the monthly luncheon.  Present the award to the recipient in the monthly luncheons semi-annually (April and October). What Can You Do? Join the scholarship committee today and offer your support to recognize and reward students committed to the construction industry. Please contact Stan Bratton or any CFMA board member. Identify and recommend deserving candidates for recognition by our CFMA chapter in April. Look for the application and requirements in your inbox or contact Stan Bratton at

Requirements 1.Be a graduate from a Dallas/Fort Worth area high school or attending a local area college or technical school. 2.Have maintained a grade point average of 3.00/4.00 (in college or technical school) 3.Must have completed at least entry level accounting, finance, business or construction- related classes. 4.Demonstrate a relationship with CFMA, TEXO or American Subcontractor Association via a letter of recommendation from any member (other than an immediate family member). Letter should show applicant’s relationship to the construction industry. 5.Preference will be given to candidates that are majoring in Accounting or Finance; however candidates in other fields of study may still be considered for a scholarship award with Board approval. Conditions & Restrictions We acknowledge that one of our primary goals is education. We also acknowledge the need for qualified employees in the field of construction accounting and finance. These needs will largely be filled from graduating students of our area schools. We hope these scholarships will prove to be an investment in the field of construction in the Dallas/Fort Worth area by providing promising construction professionals with some financial assistance while completing their studies. The Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) has established a Scholarship program to award Scholarships to qualified candidates. Previous recipients are eligible to re-apply in any semester that they qualify, but a new application must be submitted each time (limited to 2 awards). No scholarships will be granted for summer or abbreviated semesters. The applicant must satisfy these requirements in order to be considered for the scholarship: Procedures & Rules 1.Scholarships are given twice a year: During the April and October meetings. 2.Scholarships are given in $1,000 increments unless the Board votes to change that amount. 3.A scholarship recipient can only receive a scholarship two times (assuming they apply, have met all the requirements upon each application, and have been approved by the scholarship committee). 4.Scholarship applications should be received no later than March 15th and September 15th. 5.The scholarship committee reserves the right to deny any applicant if they feel they do not meet the requirements. 6.Scholarships are limited to the amount and number by a decision of the board on a yearly basis. 7.All Applicants will be considered equally without regard for race, creed, religion, ethnicity, or sex.
