WHAT YEAR IS IT? What year was it?

Bob Dylan released “The Times They are a Changing.”

The Beatles came to the U.S. and performed on the Ed Sullivan show for the first time.

The Rolling Stones’ debut album was released, and they made their first Ed Sullivan Show appearance as well.

Simon and Garfunkel release their debut album, “Wednesday Morning, 3 a.m.,” which flops.

The Mamas and the Papas formed, but didn’t break until two years later.

The Kinks release “You Really Got Me.” Some people think Van Halen performed it better. I am not one of those people.

Jimi Hendrix, before his solo career, recorded and toured with The Isley Brothers.

The Who formed during this year, playing for a short while under the name “The High Numbers.”
