Discussion Have you ever been in a life-threatening situation? Imagine you that you are on a plane, and it crashes in the snowy mountains, far away from a town or village (people). There is no satellite reception. You and others survive the crash, but you don’t know if anyone is coming to help.  What would you do first when getting out of the plane?  What will you eat?  How will you survive the weather?  How will you find someone to rescue you?

Homework: Reading Journal #8 Type one paragraph (4-5 sentences) on the following topic: -- due 11/12 before class (Wednesday)  In the case of an accident on a plane, boat, bus (or any other form of transportation), does the pilot/captain/driver have responsibility to save the people first or him/herself first? Why do you think so? Remember! You should use at least 3 new vocabulary words (from Unit A or Unit B) in your responses.
