An Internship with SFUSD The purpose of the PPSC intern training program is to provide a carefully supervised, in-depth experience at middle or high school sites throughout the city. Learning the demands and structure of a school setting. Placement at one school site.

What Does an Internship Look Like at the Middle and High School Levels? Work with and Collaborate with School Counselors, Head Counselors, Assistant Principals, Nurses, Learning Support Professionals, Teachers, Wellness Coordinators, etc. Students and parents Participation in multi-disciplinary teams, such as SAP and SSTs Case Management Group Counseling One on one counseling Collaboration with teachers and other staff

Supervisors PPSC High School or Middle School Counselor PPSC High School or Middle School Head Counselor PPSC High School or Middle School Assistant Principal (if available)

Supervision Your Supervisor will be on site with you Your Supervisor will assign cases to you Your Supervisor will orient you to your school site in terms of space, phones, procedures, and the like. Your supervisor will meet with you once a week for an hour of direct supervision Your supervisor will sign off on your hours and evaluates your performance
