Solving Systems of Equations Word Problems Objective: To solve word problems involving systems of equations. To set up a system of equations from word problems.

Steps 1.Identify and label your variables. 2.Translate the word problem. 3.Set up system of equations. 4.Determine which method to use. 5.Solve the system of equations

Example #1 A snack bar sells two sizes of snack packs. A large snack pack is $5, and a small snack pack is $3. In one day, the snack bar sold 60 snack packs for a total of $220. How many small snack packs did the snack bar sell?

Example #2 The fifth-grade teachers took their classes on a field trip to a museum. The first group had 25 students and two teachers and cost $ The second group had 32 students and three teachers and cost $127. What is the cost per student and per teacher?

Example #3 If the width of the rectangle is three times the length and the perimeter of the rectangle is 72 ft, what are the length and width of the rectangle?

Classwork / Homework *** Last Grade of the Marking Period*** OMIT #2 and #7 Complete the rest. This assignment is worth (20 points).
