doc.: IEEE /072r1 Submission March 2000 Tom Siep, Texas InstrumentsSlide 2 Recirculation verses Reconsideration Tom Siep Texas Instruments

doc.: IEEE /072r1 Submission March 2000 Tom Siep, Texas InstrumentsSlide 3 Definitions Recirculation – Continuing resolution of an active Letter Ballot. –Only “Do Not Approve” voters vote –Only clauses previously cited as that voter’s reason for the negative vote are eligible for new comments –Voters that previously voted “Approve” may (but are not required) vote on clauses that have changed Reconsideration – Draft associated with active Letter Ballot is complete. Start the ballot over.

doc.: IEEE /072r1 Submission March 2000 Tom Siep, Texas InstrumentsSlide 4 Recirculation Pros –Default path –Shorter cycle possible –Maintains Negative votes that still apply Cons –Entire document will change –Short time not appropriate –Maintains Negative votes that no longer apply

doc.: IEEE /072r1 Submission March 2000 Tom Siep, Texas InstrumentsSlide 5 Reconsideration Pros –Ballot did not pass and entire document will change anyway –All Negative votes go away –All comments on Clauses 6 and 7 have been accepted by Bluetooth SIG errata process Cons –Voters who registered comments against D0.6 may think their work was in vain (not true)
