3 Upgrade to SCO OpenServer 6  BIS applications running on a main server are backed up by an identical failover server to provide a “no excuses solution”.  Very high levels of automation reach all segments of operations utilizing online hand held devices.  Automatic Faxing, s, Application Integrated Document Imaging, Production Scheduling, Job Tracking and Integrated UPS/FedEx shipping, Automatic ing of Order Confirmations,  Critical importance to continue the supply chain for both “just-in-time” manufacturing and keeping our equipment in the Gulf flying. Many orders are filled same day as ordered.

4 Upgrade to SCO OpenServer 6  Upgrade from Open Server to new servers on 6.0 brought success quickly and increased user from 250 to 360.  Upgrading from Intel Quad Processor Enterprise Servers to Intel Quad Processor Enterprise Servers was a no-brainer We have needed to use the hot backup server - failover only once since 1997 !

5 Upgrade to OpenServer 6 We looked at alternatives; less expensive hardware, low cost Linux, AIX, Windows.  Key: The more importance the customer assigns to the critical nature of the business applications, the higher the value you need to provide in your solutions.  Open Server 6.0 provides an almost seamless migration with years of headroom built in. We are experiencing a 10 fold increase in performance.  The first Month-end closing was reduced from 7 hours to 1 ! Searching multi-million record files takes only minutes.

6 Conclusion  We can confidently encourage other Open Server customers to upgrade to Rock Solid Open Server 6  Customers will leverage their existing investments and provide head room for your applications to grow.  The process of integration and configuration is efficient for you, and low risk for your customers. Your applications and 3 rd party applications behave like you would expect.  The learning curve for your integration people will be manageable. DTR people help our people work efficiently and show confidence that we together have the solutions our customer’s need.  You provide the capacity, let your customers go to work to use it!
