Vehicle! by: Mike Davenport and Paul Lasher

Product Our product will be a local newspaper company We will be transporting the newspaper by a way that uses fossil fuels and a way that doesn’t Non Fossil Fuel: A bike with a box on the back Fossil Fuel:2009 Smart Fortwo

The Bike We chose a bike because it doesn’t use fossil fuels It will be easy to transport the newspaper because of the box Bikes are smaller and easier to store Using a bicycle to commute four days a week for four miles saves 54 gallons of gas annually. The energy and resources needed to build one medium-sized car could produce 100 bicycles. Buying bikes to transport instead of cars will save thousands of dollars

2009 Smart Fortwo The smart fortwo is about half the length of the average vehicle in the U.S., saving about 8 feet in length. The smart fortwo is the most fuel efficient non-hybrid vehicle in the U.S. and the 3rd most fuel-efficient vehicle in the U.S EPA estimated MPG rating of 33 city / 41 highway If every vehicle sold in the US was a smart, this would free up 24,242 miles of roadway the smart fortwo is up to 95% recyclable is certified as a SmartWay vehicle for its low air pollutant and greenhouse gas scores by the Environmental Protection Agency Does not use any climate changing fossil fuels

For the BOSS! 2010 Toyota Prius 50 mpg (51 city, 48 highway) Runs on half electricity half gas Available solar roof 90% of the car runs on electricity Hybrid Synergy Drive- Combines gas and electric propulsion with the ability to operate one or both depending on the driving situation. This enables the car to operate at its most efficient level. Boosts power and enhances efficiency and emission control UV reduction glass windshield Solar power ventilation system LED headlamps and tail lamps $22,400

And Again!!! For the Boss Daimler Chrysler 2009 Flex Fuel E85 E85 is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline E85 is 10% cheaper than regular gas E85 has the highest oxygen content of any transportation fuel available today, making it burn cleaner than gas Fewer exhaust emissions E85 reduces greenhouse gases Less smog Ethanol is non toxic
