An Average Day at work new intake read intake/ contact referrals gather additional information to start process make phone calls interview victims interview children at their homes computer work

What Mrs. Garay like the most about her job? Least? Enjoys going out to homes to interview clients Enjoys Interviewing kids The paperwork is her least favorite task

If she can change one about her job what would it be? She would love to be able to work from home but due to confidentiality it is impossible. Also sometimes the driving can get a little tiring since she drives from the region to the south. Sometimes she drives to do interviews at clients homes and the average drive one way can be between 2-3 hours.

What does she see as the causes of child abuse and neglect, domestic violence and/ or elder abuse (as appropriate)? When it comes to child abuse, drug abuse causes a lot neglect and physical discipline Children in and out of home can also put children at risk for child abuse.

What does she think are essential elements of intervention ? giving parents tools to deal with all sorts of situations counseling figuring out how to get financial assistance. education follow policy and answer questions foster parents are new and policy changes a lot all the time foster parents take care of a lot of children that need a lot of special needs.
