Log onto the computer connected to the scanner and double-click the Edusoft grader program on the desktop. Note – you must be logged in to the computer as somebody with administrator rights to that computer. Usually all staff at a school site have these rights. You won’t need to push any buttons on the scanner!
Put in any valid Edusoft user name and password. Any person can scan tests for any other person. ! The 4-digit number password given to new users will not work in the grader program. Use that to register an account online first. ! If your login doesn’t work, it might be that your account has expired (past 120 days since last login.)
Directions are there for you. Just remember, don’t push any buttons on the scanner. It’s a good idea to count the papers before putting them in the document feeder. After scanning the computer will give the count of how many it scanned. Click SCAN. It goes fast.
Scan another batch if you have more than one class to do. ALWAYS click “view results” before quitting so that you can make sure all answer sheets were graded. Internet Explorer will open and log on to the Edusoft web site.
The web site should show how many tests are graded along with overall scores. Unresolved scans are ones that have no student name or need to be rescanned. Fix them here.
If the scan failed because the answer sheet was not recognized, there is no way to resolve the scan online. You’ll have to find the paper answer sheet and scan it in again. In this case, the student scribbled in the code section at the bottom.
If the scan was recognized, but no student was found either because the wrong ID was used or no name was bubbled, the scan can be assigned to the correct student in your class. Writing in the middle of the page is fine.
Choose the student name from your class list or search for them in the database. Students must be in the database for this to work.
All done! Log out or scan another batch.
