Abolitionism-movement to end slavery.  Andrew Jackson-7 th pres.; hero of the battle of New Orleans (war of 1812); began a new style of American politics, “Jacksonian democracy;” ordered the,”Trails of Tears” and supported the power of the national government.

 Brown, John-militant abolitionist who led raid at harpers ferry.  Bazaar,Philip-navy sea man who was awarded the medal of honor for his valor in the battle of fort fisher of the american civil war.

 Clay,Henry-Politician known as “the great compromiser” created the missouri compromise, comprmise of 1850 and the compromise that ended the nullification case.  Calhoun C. John- V.P. of U.S.; craeted a doctine of nullification which said that a state could decide of a law was constitutional.
