BYU INDEPENDENT STUDY PILOT ONLINE TESTING

PILOT DETAILS AND SCOPE 6 BYU IS courses have online exams 1-5 exams per course 169 students total We will administer 441 online exams this semester We administered 148 in Sept-Oct exams will likely be during Finals week

WHY Benefits from Online Testing: Added convenience for all students Added student base (don’t need to be near testing center) Possibly decrease cheating Decrease costs No printing or mailing test packets No scantrons or scantron reading machines No building costs Students don’t have to pay to use other testing centers

HOW Using our testing software we can: view the student via webcam control the student’s screen view the student’s screen record

SO WHAT We have experienced some technical difficulties Every issue is new/different They pop up while students are waiting to take exams
