Warm Up What do you think we farm from the ocean? What are the environmental impacts of it?

Aquaculture Let’s grow some fish to eat…

Chinese in the 5 th Century B.C. Egyptians possibly around 2000 B.C. Roman Empire began oyster farming that continues today. Modern fish farming began with a German man in It’s not a new idea!!! Early Hawaiians walled off ponds along the coast.

Aquaculture Create a Venn Diagram that gives two similarities and three differences between open and closed aquaculture. Then underneath the diagram write four sentences that describes why aquaculture may not be the best solution for the overfishing problem.
