In a nutshell, the ticket office manager is responsible for all aspects of ticket sales for the theatre. From the sales of daily tickets to scheduling large group reservations, this job handles it. They make sure money coming in and ticket sales balance out. When a problem does occur, the manager works with staff to locate the source of the imbalance. The ticket office manager hires, trains, and supervises ticket sales staff. This may include training employees on cash registers, computer software, credit card sales and potential difficulties with the job. The box office manager works closely with staff to eliminate potential problems and keep operations running smoothly. Most ticket office managers handle daily, weekly, and monthly accounting reports, and for evaluating effectiveness of marketing programs and campaigns. They are also in charge of complaints from customers.

The salary for this job can vary, based upon many factors, from the number of employees you manage, hours you work, and experience. Some places pay 10 dollars an hour, up to 20 dollars an hour with benefits. Weekends and evening work is usually required. Speaking more than one language is a plus for this job.
