The “Me Decade” Time Capsule Activity A time capsule (circa 37’) is a historic cache of goods and/or information, usually intended as a method of communication with people in the future.

The “Me Decade” Time Capsule Activity Skim read Chapter 55. Pick events you feel are most important or representative of the 1970s decade. Categorize them as political, economic and social. Your labelled list = checklist #2: 70’s events list In a group of 3~4, compare lists and come up with a master list of TOP 10 events. Decide together what physical artifact you might put in a time capsule to represent each thing on your list. Put the top 10 events with explanations and an artifact (=image/video) in PowerPoint (use the laptop).

Example of Artifact Top 7: Energy (Oil) Crisis OPEC imposed an oil embargo which led to fuel shortages, rationing, and sky-rocketing prices throughout the 70’s. People fought over gases, and locked their tanks to prevent theft.
