 Vocabulary Words  Estimate: an answer that is close to an exact number  Benchmark: A number used as a guide for making an estimate.  P.2 You can use a lesser number or an amount of something as a benchmark to estimate a greater number or amount.  Lets do number 1 together.  Do number 2 in your notebook

 Vocabulary Words:  Less than ( < ) : Symbol to show that the first number is less than the second.  More than ( < ) Symbol to show that the first number is less than the second.  Number Line: a line with numbers written on it in order.  The symbol looks like pac – man. Pac Man always eats the larger number.

 When ordering numbers use their place value to compare numbers from greatest to least.  Line up the one’s place. Compare the digits starting from the greatest place.
