**Today we will manipulate very large and very small numbers.**

Manipulate=work with very large numbers – numbers in the millions or higher; have 7 or more digits very small numbers - numbers in the thousandths or smaller; thousandths are fractional parts of 1000

**Before you can learn to write numbers in word form you must know how to spell these words:**

**How to write large numbers in word form**

Write the numbers as you would read them: 1st Start with the period farthest to the left and write it in word form. 2nd Continue with the period to the right and write it in word form. Continue this process till you reach the ones period. Six hundred ninety thousand four hundred ninety two Thousand Ones 690,492
