General Information TEK 1.A -Demonstrate safe practice during laboratory and field investigations as outlined in the Texas Safety Standards. Charades- Students will be given a lab scenario in which they will have to act out the appropriate process/steps and select the correct equipment that would need to be used. Strategies- 2,4,5,6,7,8

Instructions Students will be randomly selected into group of three. The students will pick two scenarios out of a bag, and have the option to choose which one they would like to act out. Each station will be equipped with basic lab safety equipment such as goggles, apron, beaker, hot plate, test tube, test tube holder, tongs, graduated cylinder, fire extinguisher etc. Students will have 15 minutes to create a skit and correctly act out their scenario using their safety equipment. The students will then act out their skit in front of the class and go through the process of critical friends.

Example Scenarios A student needs to obtain 20 mL of hot water. A beaker has broken on the floor. How to transport chemicals to their lab table. Measure the mass of baking soda. There is a fire in the lab. Someone is on fire.
