Meeting Schedule March 3, 6 Introduction, Eagle Assignment March 10, 13 Design Review, Eagle Q&A, Start Layout March 31 (6:00pm), April 3 (3:30pm) Board Presentations, PCB Order April 14 (6:00pm), 17 (3:30pm) Soldering Practice, Board Assembly April 28 (6:00pm), 31 (3:30pm) Board Assembly, Test, and Debug

Design Introduction The backpack light operates from two AAA alkaline or NiMH batteries. A boost converter raises the battery voltage to the ~9V needed to power the LEDs with 80-90% efficiency Four LEDs provide 360 visibility A microcontroller provides programmable flash patterns and automatic shut-off Turn-on mechanism still in R&D…

Eagle Assignment Decide if you want to work by yourself of with someone else – it’s your call Before the next meeting Download Eagle 5.4 from Cadsoft Complete the tutorial in the manual Learn about Create and name polygons Turn thermals on and off Don’t worry about footprints. We’ve already got all of them

Until we meet again… Any questions? Look for materials at
